I woke up to a sad news of a writer passing. That writer was my first archetype even before I knew the meaning of the word 'archetype'. I wanted to be like him. I wanted to write like him. I wanted my blog to look exactly like his blog. I wanted to photograph make my photos look like his.
I don't remember exactly how I came across him but he introduced me to the world outside of my tiny world (a small city in India called Bhopal). I took up blogging with an aspiration to work with him someday. Things happened and I ended up changing my profession but his views still mattered. His photos I continued to admire. His words introduced me to the things that I wouldn't have found out otherwise (books, apps, works of other wonderful people).
I am not sure where I would have ended up if it weren't for the archetypes like him. Internet, and especially blogs on the internet has the immense ability to change someone's life, without even them realizing. Here's a hoping that with this blog, I end up making the same difference in someone's life, as much as he did.
Rest in peace Om Malik!
