Sigma BF

After sitting on it for weeks, I finally came across a well researched article that puts things in perspective. Apparently BF is a nod to the term "beautiful foolishness" and probably borrowed from the book "The Book of Tea" by Okakura Kakuzo. He writes: “Let us dream of evanescence, and linger in the beautiful foolishness of things”. It is also fitting that Sigma moved from the metropolitan Tokyo to Aizu; the same place is known for its long history of metalworking - including high-quality samurai swords. How fitting. Link

When knowledge is commoditized

With the advent of AI, the barriers of basic knowledge are getting removed for good. What would remain as moat is the curiosity, creativity and the drive. In Jack Raines words: Are you interested in doing the thing, can you think of the thing to do, and will you do the thing? There is no good excuse to not make something that you want to make. This is more like a note to myself to have high agency to basically fuck around and find out. Anything that I once wished to make is just one prompt away (okay, a few prompts away). Link

Hello Mieko Kawakami

I accidentally came across this author while searching for a Murakami alternative. I have been reading her All The Lovers In The Night and I found the similar comfort that I found in the earlier books of Murakami. I got three more books of her and I will report back on what I find. Link
