Japanese and Chinese Gardens
Another month came to an end in Singapore and it has been five months already.
After a brief hiatus, I resumed my weekly photowalk around the country and these gardens were the first on the list. What differentiates Chinese culture from Japanese? Well, for starters, Chinese don't have the cultural custom of quietness in public spaces where as Japanese (and Koreans) typically remain eerily silent. I often wonder in awe about the nuances that define a culture. What could have been the reason that encouraged Chinese to be loud in public spaces but discouraged Japanese to do the same?
Oh, and about those gardens, they were picturesque at best if you visited during golden hour.
